A brief history of the Hooters bar

Hooters is an American restaurant chain that was founded in 1983 by six businessmen in Clearwater, Florida.

The first Hooters location was opened in Clearwater, Florida, in 1983. The founders of Hooters were six businessmen, including Lynn D. Stewart, who was a former salesman for Converse Shoes. Stewart had the idea to open a restaurant that combined two things he loved: sports and beautiful women. He convinced his five partners to invest in the idea, and the first Hooters restaurant was born.
The original Hooters restaurant was located in a small, rundown building in Clearwater. The building had previously housed a rundown bar, and the Hooters founders decided to keep the bar’s name, "Mother’s," as a tribute to its history.
